Cookie Notice
Last updated: September 26, 2026
We keep our footprint on your device about as small as a website can be. Here's the complete list of things we store locally.
1. One preference flag (first-party)
sq-cookie-ok — a small value in your browser's
localStorage that remembers you dismissed the cookie notice. Set by
this site only, never read by anyone else, gone if you clear your
browser data.
2. Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless)
Our page-view analytics use Cloudflare's cookieless beacon. It sends
a hashed request per page view; no cookie is set, no personal profile
is built, and it cannot follow you across sites. You can opt out by
blocking requests to static.cloudflareinsights.com.
3. First-party click events
When you click an affiliate link, your browser posts a one-way event
to squatchdiy.com/api/click.
Nothing is stored on your device — the event only exists on our server
as an aggregate "someone clicked this recommendation."
What we don't use
- No third-party cookies.
- No advertising or tracking pixels (no Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.).
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.
- No consent wall — there is nothing to consent to.
